TRAGEDY AT MOUNT CURRIE - Death of Councilor Bruce Edmonds Shocks Lil’wat Nation

Mount Currie, B.C. –- Bruce Edmonds, a Councillor for the Lil’wat Nation was found dead yesterday afternoon in his vehicle.

A respected carver, he was on the Aboriginal art VANOC program and his work is featured at the Squamish Lil’wat7ul Cultural Centre as well as at Whistler Olympic Park.

The news has shocked family and friends in this small, tight-knit community.

This is a very sensitive matter and the community is requesting privacy and respect during this difficult time.

The Lil’wat Nation / Mount Currie Band asks that you respect the healing process so that the community can follow the proper protocols and ceremonies.
