Youth Alcohol and Drug Addictions Counsellor

Reporting to: Health Director, Mt. Currie Health Centre
Salary: Dependant upon experience

The Mt. Currie Health Centre is looking for an energetic individual to join our multi-disciplinary team as our Youth Drug & Alcohol Addictions Outreach Counsellor. Your assessment and counseling experience with high-risk youth and their families and ability to work within a team will be important ingredients in providing services. You will provide education and outreach services, conduct assessments, assist in developing and implementing treatment plans, provide individual and group counseling, and facilitate referrals to further addictions treatment programs. Your knowledge of adolescent developmental issues and substance abuse, as well as strong consultation, facilitation and teamwork skills are essential for your success. In addition, you will collaborate with families and professionals in the community.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor degree in a related field or a two-year diploma
• Exceptional communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an outreach capacity
• Experience working with First Nations an asset
